LONDON!!!

Sooo much has happened. I love being here with everyone. Sorry I haven't updated in awhile, I will try to stick to every day now at least while I am in London.

So far, we have gone to the Westminster Abbey church service on Sunday, which was really worth going, just to hear the amazing choir and see all the crazy ritual stuff they do, and there are really famous people buried their like Issac Newton and Charles Darwin. Later on in the day on Sunday we went to the Institute of Contemporary Art and saw a great exhibition that combined poetry and art. There were really unique ways of displaying the words which made it really interactive and personal. Then last night, we went to the final show of Romeo and Juliet in the Globe Theatre. We were just like the peasants and stood through the entire 3 hour performance. It was really amazing. Seeing the whole play in the globe setting made it all so real and pure. I felt like I was there experiencing the story. The actors were perfect and they had music in the back that was really nice. It was worth standing the whole time!

Today we had our first class!! I am extremely excited, because of the way everything is going to work. Our teachers are all about the idea of making our work interactive, experiencing everything to a point where we really soak in the information. They want us to express ourselves originally and try to expand on thinking about what intrigues us. Our first assignment is to go to the National Gallery and write how we feel about certain pieces of art. Our other assignments for photography, is to start taking pictures that show what you are thinking, what intrigues me. Basically not touristy pictures. Tomorrow we are having a big quiz on Les Miserables! I'm kind of nervous about that! I think I know the story pretty well now though.

I miss everyone, and I can't wait to go to the National Gallery! I'll write on this tomorrow :)

  1. That's so cool about the Globe and the Abbey. I'm glad you're into the classes too. I start mine today and am pretty excited about it. I'll meet four new batches of PLNU students in my labs over there (24 students in each lab), then will have to wait until October to meet 40 more of them in my physical science class and labs. Miramar classes start today too. I actually signed up for a class there so I could use the new fitness center. I had to apply for admission and everything. I'll let you know how that class goes. It's great that everybody's out there in Europe now. I'm going to follow all the blogs and facebook updates that I can find. It's fun traveling vicariously through friends and family. I tell people here that I've never been to Europe, but I've paid for it twice! Glad you're having fun and updating this thing. I'll catch up on my photo projects soon.

  3. Hey, the Resophonics started their first set at our party with "Wagon Wheel." Cool coincidence.

Also, it looked like you didn't have a word of the day, so how about this one - wagon wheel = roue de chariot.
