Hi, so I haven't updated everyday, it is definitely hard to find time to get on the computer when I am surrounded by so many new things to do and places to go.
Tonight we went and saw Les Miserables. It was really amazing. The acting and singing was perfect, and knowing the whole story made the experience way better. Watching the play really made all of the emotions and the scenes more compacting.
Yesterday we went to the Saacti Museum, a really amazing contemporary art museum. There were really out there pieces that gave me a lot of inspirtation. The weirdest one in the museum was in the basement, where there old wax men on wheel chairs that moved on their own. They had sensors so they didn't hit the viewers, but it was creepy how real they looked.
There was a korean exhibit, probably the mmost interesting section, and this picture of the squished people was so interesting. That is really what it looked like, it was so trippy to look at, because you couldn't completely focus on the people.
The picture of the street and the buildings is a view from our hotel, Lee Abbey, it is a beautiful area.
The other picture is a majority of the people on the trip, we went out on the town in London, we danced for like 5 hours at some club, it was great.
I have been having a great time, and it is unreal how much fun stuff I am doing. I am with amazing people and have learned so much already.
My classes are so fun, we wake up, read poetry in a circle, then have art history and look at paintings that we are going to see in museums! I love it!
I miss everyone :)

I Love the fun art - how unique it all is! It sure must be tough having to dance for 5 hours with all those great girls! Poor you. Just try to have some fun along with all that hard work!
ReplyDeleteThose old people definitely do look real. I was looking through your pictures before I read the post and I was wondering why you would take a picture of some random old people.
ReplyDeleteHey! Nice blog entry. I'm in Che 152L right now. Your old lab course! Justin is my lab assistant and he was in my lab three years ago. Also, he's pretty excited that you're going to Greece, because he and Kristin were there for all of the Spring 2009 semester. So if you're looking for tips on what to see and where to go in Greece, he's ready to give you some suggestions. It's great being back on campus, even without you here. Glad you're having a great time out there. You're doing great on your blog! I'm very impressed because I know how hard it is to find time to do blog entries. I've got about nine of them bookmarked and I check them all the time. A few people have been putting some great photos on facebook too. We love traveling vicariously along with you thanks to the photos and the blogs. thanks.
ReplyDeletescott holy mackerel! good thing you explained the korean exhibition one because i just thought you took a really bad picture, i was actually going to criticize you on it...that wheelchair piece sounds sweet! i wish i could have seen it, it sounds like a similar installation we saw in newport with dave. im still jealous, still excited for you, still loving all the updates :D
ReplyDeleteAll this talk of compacting shows and squished people. I'm worried for you, Scott.
ReplyDeleteHas any of this cool stuff inspired you to do some art of your own? or write a song on your new Spanish guitar?
